For me personally, photographing couples like Chloe Walker & Dale Holmes, is one of the most rewarding things about being a photographer. It’s true they were self conscious, perhaps a bit awkward when they knew the camera was pointing at them, and totally disbelieving their images could look anything like those in the sample albums we showed them. So, as with other similar couples- when the fat ladies’ sung, and their album arrives from the album manufacturer looking every bit as good as anything we’d shown them, I fall asleep happy at night!

As it turned out- this time round, I was nervous too, as we ended up leaving St Mark’s Millthorpe (for the photo shoot) 25 minutes late. This wouldn’t have been such as issue if the bridal party weren’t driving back into Orange for pics, and then back out to Millthorpe again, for the reception at Tonic. Much later, and I would have been pitching a case for changing plans & shooting locally instead.
Something that made a tremendous difference, was that the bridal party were great- really co-operative. This is one thing that can make or break short shoots.
Chloe, I’m sure your “one nice image” is somewhere in the 500-600 on your proof CD-ROM!
